GWADAR: Customs Gwadar has foiled an attempt to smuggle large quantity of narcotics into the country.

Based on information, Gwadar Customs raided two separate spots in Jeewani while the smugglers were transferring the narcotics to a third party. On seeing the Customs staff, the culprits opened fire and escaped.

Subsequently, Customs staff recovered large quantity of high quality opium and ICE buried in the ground in drums.

Moreover, Customs Gwadar also seized 300KG charas from a Hino truck.

The value of all the seized narcotics comes to Rs380 million. FIRs are lodged and investigations are under way.

It may be mentioned here that on the directives of Member Customs Tariq Huda, field formations are pursuing a rigorous anti-smuggling campaign.
