HYDERABAD: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Sukkur Region (I&I Sukkur) has seized two non-custom-paid Toyota Vitz cars worth Rs2.6 million.

Newly appointed Director I&I Hyderabad Saleem Memon, a well repurted and competent officer, and Additional Director Jamshed Talpur have kept strict vigilance on the transport routes to check movement of smuggled goods and vehicles from Baluchistan to upcountry.

Moreover, the ASO staff has strengthened the intelligence network that has enables efficient and effective campaign against movement of smuggled goods.

In pursuance of information, ASO of I&I Sukkur intercepted a Toyota Vitz car near Shikarpur bypass. Driver of the vehicle failed to provide requisite import documents on the spot except copy of the running page provided by MRA Karachi, which did not match with the vehicle.

Similarly, another Toyota Vitz car was intercepted near Sukkur Bus Stand. The driver could not provide any documentary evidence to prove legal import and possession of the vehicle.

Both the vehicles have been taken into custody and further investigations are underway.
