KARACHI: Allowing constitution petitions filed by a number of companies including Kiran Foods, a customs appellate bench of Sindh High Court held that custom authorities have no role at import stage of Betel nuts and that only Plant Protection Department can issue a certification and check phytosanitory certificate from country of export origin.
The bench also dismissed the plea of equating Indian level of aflatoxin and held that Pakistan has its own standard which is applicable.
