QUETTA: Customs Quetta has seized various smuggled goods along with transporting vehicles worth Rs170 million in the first week of June 2021.

Information was received through Chief Collector Gul Rehman to Collector Irfan Javed to the effect that huge quantity of high valued smuggled goods would be smuggled into the country through unfrequented routes.

On the directives of Additional Collector Yasir Kalwar, Deputy Collector Akbar Jan, avised the Customs staff posted at various check posts as well as the mobile squads to maintain strict vigilance on specified weak points.

As a result recently within first week of June, 2021 large quantity of foreign origin smuggled goods were seized.

The approximate value of seized goods alongwith vehicle used for carriage of smuggled goods is Rs.170 million. It is further added that the intensified anti-smuggling drive by Customs as well as with the support of Law Enforcement Agencies has resulted in manifold increase in seizures.
