ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Pakistan, in consultation with Chief Justice of Pakistan has appointed Chairman and Member, Judicial to Special Customs Appellate Court.
Muhammad Arif Khan was appointed as Chairman of the Customs Appellate Bench I, Islamabad in BPS 22.
Abdul Jabbar Qureshi and Naveed-ul-Haq advocates were appointed as Judicial Member (BS 21) Custom Appellate Tribunal Bench I & II, Karachi respectively while Mumtaz Hussain was appointed Member Judicial, Peshawar Bench and Abdul Zahir Achakzai was Member Judicial, Quetta Bench.
The appointments came after a considerable delay but now lawyers expect swift disposal of appeals by the appellate tribunals all over the country particularly Karachi which has highest number of pending appeals.
