KARACHI: The judgment was reserved in a bunch of Special Custom Reference Applications (SCRA’s) filed by Director Valuation against importers of toiletries.
As per details, Director General Valuation filed SCRA’s against a number of importers who imported toilet soaps in 2015.
The issue pertained to valuation dispute which went upto Special Customs Appellate Tribunal. During pendency of the appeal, department issue a letter for re-determination of the valuation.
The bench comprising Justice Muhammad Junaid Ghaffar and Justice Agha Faisal took a serious view and said by mentioning the word “re determination”, the department has admitted its mistake.
Either withdraw these SCRAs or we will pass orders to be placed in the personal files of the officer concerned, the bench told to Masooda Siraj advocate appearing for the department.
The counsel continue to argue the matter after which the bench heard submissions in detail and reserved the orders/judgment.
