LAHORE: Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Lahore has seized large quantity of smuggled goods worth Rs40 million, as the Directorate has a zero tolerance policy on illegitimate trade, and further expedited its campaign against smuggling.
Director Lahore Asad Raza Rizvi has advised his team to keep strict vigilance on the movement and distribution of smuggled goods.
Information was received through Additional Director Hassan Farid that large quantity of smuggled goods belonging to notorious smugglers Niaz Khan and Nabhi Bukhash would move through GT Road. Director Asad Rizvi constituted a team under Deputy Director Shahzad Ranjha and comprising of Agha Qadeer, Aslam Chaudhry, Khawaja Zia, Sohail Murtaza and Nauman Ashraf.
Subsequently, two trucks were intercepted at Pattoki. The recovered goods include skim milk, tyres, welding electrodes, locks, auto parts and scrap. The value of recovered goods is approximately Rs 40 millions.
