PESHAWAR: MCC Preventive Peshawar has seized 100 KG of foreign origin and smuggled narcotics worth Rs15 million, which was being transported from Tribal areas to Punjab via Motorway.

Information was passed through Collector Khalil Yousafani to Additional Collector Fahad Ali regarding movement of narcotics to Punjab.

Subsequently, Deputy Collector Mehmood Khattak formed a team comprising Superintendent Farrukh Azeem, Inspector Nasir Ali and others. The team setup a picket and spotted a Datsun vehicle coming from Kohat.

The vehicle was signaled the vehicle to stop, but the driver sped away. Customs staff followed the Datsun, however, the driver abandoned the vehicle and escaped taking advantage of the dark.

The vehicle was searched which led to recovery of 50KG charas and 50KG opium, which was concealed in the secret cavities of the vehicle.

The narcotics and vehicle have been seized, FIR is lodged and investigation is underway.
