KARACHI: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Karachi has redistributed work among Additional Directors and Deputy Directors.
Additional Director Sheeraz Ahmed is assigned Division I,II,III; FTA, DRRA & Internal Audit and any other task assigned by the Director.
Additional Director Tasleem Akhtar is assigned Division-IV, Administration and Establishment, Anti-Smuggling Organization, Auction & SWH, R&A, Law, AMl Cell and any other task assigned by the Director.
The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Karachi has redistributed work among Deputy Directors.
Accordingly, Deputy Director Nausheen Riaz Khan is assigned Division-II, Division-IV and any other task assigned by the Director.
Deputy Director Tausif Aman is assigned Administration and Establishment, Anti-Smuggling Organization, Auction & SWH, R&A, Law, AMl Cell and any other task assigned by the Director.
Deputy Director Adnan Rafiq is assigned Division-III, FTO and any other task assigned by the Director.
Deputy Director Muhammad Aftab is assigned Division-I, DRRA and Internal Audit and any other task assigned by the Director.
The jurisdiction of Division-I includes MCC Appraisement East, MCC Enforcement and Compliance Karachi and all maters related to MCC JIAP excluding AFU Exports.
The jurisdiction of Division-II includes MCC Appraisement West. The jurisdiction of Division-III includes MCC Port Qasim. The jurisdiction of Division-IV includes MCC Exports Karachi, MCC Exports Port Qasim, AFU Exports and all exports exemption regimes.
It may be mentioned here that Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has recently posted almost all the above officers in Customs Intelligence and Investigation Karachi. All of these are very high-profile officers and experienced and quite competent.
An official said in the past couple of years, the writ and effectiveness of Customs Intelligence and Investigation had been reduced to almost nil by earlier team, and instead Customs I&I was patronizing the smugglers. It was also known that tyres of vehicles of ASO, I&I are flattened every night so that officers could not conduct raids. Now the Customs I&I is being restructured.
