KARACHI: A customs appellate bench of High Court of Sindh comprising Justice Khadim Hussain Shaikh and Justice Adnan Iqbal Choudhry has allowed provisional release of rubber consignments against payment of differential amount of duty and taxes.
The bench earlier heard Imran Iqbal Khan advocate who appeared for a number of importers of rubber (Synthetic and Natural) and contended that customs officials are applying Valuation Rulings VR 1091 and 1092 of 2017 while disallowing value declared by the importers. He explained to the bench that as per provisions of 0custom laws, the VR issued in 2017 is not applicable now.
The bench after lengthy arguments allowed provisional release of consignments against deposition of customs duty, taxes etc (difference between declared and assessed values).
