Karachi: President Site Association of Industry(SAI) Suleman Chawla, has appealed to the Sindh government to provide SOPs with immediate effect instead of shutting down industries as the industries are already facing severe financial crisis due to the lockdown in Pakistan and coronavirus outbreak in USA & European countries.
In a statement, Suleman Chawla said that the industrialist community supported the government in every difficult time and still offered its support to the government once again despite the stringent measures to prevent coronavirus outbreak and lockdown, while shutdown the industries and paying workers’ salaries, regardless of the dire financial loss, so that government efforts to curb Corona spread can be made effective.
“How long will the industrialists keep their factories locked up, as if the situation becomes more serious then industries will be destroyed and there will be an unstable economic crisis, so the government should adopt a strategy that will keep the wheels of the industry moving and worker’s jobs may be saved”, he added.
Mr. Chawla urged the Sindh Govt to notify SOPs for the industries at the earliest with a view to save the industries from destruction, so that by adopting preventive measures could pave the way for restoration of productive activities in the industries and protect workers’ employment.
