KARACHI: Sindh High Court on Monday ordered auction of a part of consignment within four weeks and to give sale proceeds to the importer.
The bench comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Mahmood A Khan earlier heard a counsel from Franklin Law Associates who submitted that out of 950 cartons, 70 were detained on valuation dispute. The respondent customs sought to assess the same under new Valuation Ruling (VR) while the same is not applicable in our case, the lawyer contended praying that these carton may also be released.
The bench after hearing the sides and expression of inability by the importer to lift the consignment disposing of the petition ordered that the same may be auctioned and sale proceed be given to the petitioner.
