KARACHI: Federal Services Tribunal, Islamabad, has set aside the order imposing major penalty of dismissal from service on Sepoy Aamir Shabbir and reinstated in service from the date of dismissal with all back benefits.
Aamir Shabbir, Sepoy in the Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Range Office Gujranwala, had approached the Tribunal aggrieved by order dated 16.07.2018 whereby he was dismissed from service. He was dismissed on the allegation of non-compliance of order whereby he had been transferred from Gujranwala to Mardan and remained absent.
The Tribunal after due process struck down his dismissal order and reinstated him in service.
Syed Aamir Shabbir, an official of Customs Intelligence & Investigation, had approached Chief Justice of Pakistan, Chairman FBR, Federal Tax Ombudsman and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) through applications seeking legal action against then Director General Customs Intelligence & Investigation Shaukat Ali.
Syed Aamir Shabbir presented evidence proving corruption and misconduct of Shaukat Ali, which caused huge loss to the national economy.
In his petitions, Syed Aamir Shabbir in an application to Chief Justice of Pakistan submitted that Shaukat Ali, Director General Customs Intelligence was a BS-21 officer whose crime and corruption were eroding the nation and its economy.
Syed Aamir Shabbir alleged Shaukat Ali stumbled at every promotion and still managed to overcome the obstacles every step of his way to BS-21. He was the custom officer whose misdeeds aroused multiple forums to initiate proceedings and still he managed to kill each inquiry/investigation against his corruption.
