KARACHI: A customs appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Mahmood A Khan on Tuesday referred a dispute over classification to Classification Committee.
According to details Messrs Paper Impex moved the court through Franklin Law Associates. The counsel for petitioner submitted that the petitioner imported printing waste paper which is classifiable and taxable under PCT heading 4801.5510 but custom officials are applying PCT heading 4805.9190, meant for “decorative paper”.
The bench in view of the classification dispute referred the same to the classification committee while issuing notice to the respondents for Feb 08.
