KARACHI: A customs appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) issued pre-admission notice for Feb 06 in a petition filed by one Muhammad Junaid, a clearing agent against alleged harassment by Investigating Officer (IO) in two FIRs registered against the petitioner.

Iftikhar Hussain advocate appeared for the petitioner and maintained that FIR were registered on the charge of mis-declaration. He further maintained the adjudication proceedings were in favor of the accused/petitioner yet raids were being conducted and arrest is apprehended.

The counsel further submitted that petitioner has moved an application under section 32 of the Customs Act offering to pay duty, taxes, fine and other levies for settling the dispute. The petitioner be given protection against such highhandedness, the counsel submitted.

The bench ordered issuance of pre-admission notices to the respondent R&D of East and West custom collectorates while directing the petitioner to cooperate with the Investigator and also to provide documents as required by the IO.
