KARACHI: A custom’s appellate bench of High Court of Sindh comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbassi and Justice Mahmood A Khan on Friday ordered release of two vehicle, a Hino Oil tanker and a Toyota Surf Jeep.
The first petition was filed by Khair Jan through Ms Dilkhurram Shaheen advocate who told the court that ONO was in favour of the petitioner who was ordered to pay a fine of rupees 50000 and redemption fine of 20 per cent. 40000 litre Iranian HSD was recovered from the tanker.
The Customs Preventive (Ghas Bandar) filed appeal before the special customs appellate tribunal which also ruled in favor of the petitioner but as the order was not implemented, the instant petition was filed which was allowed today with directions to the custom authorities to implement the order of the tribunal.
The same bench hearing another petition in respect of a Toyota Surf, detained for being Non Custom Paid was allowed. Hazrat Bilal, owner of the vehicle filing the petition through Ms Dil khurram Shaheen advocate maintained that it was duly registered. The bench ordered implementing order of the customs tribunal deciding this petition too.
