FAISALABAD: MCC Preventive Faisalabad has geared up its anti-smuggling campaign and seized smuggled goods worth millions of rupees.

Chairman FBR Syed Shabbar Zaidi, Membe Customs Oqais Agha Jawad and Chief Collector Zeba Hai Azhar have directed the Customs to tighten controls on movement of smuggled goods.

Information was received through Collector Multan Muhammad Saleem to Additional Collector Ghulam Nabi Kamboh about presence of smuggled goods at a warehouse.

Subsequently, Deputy Collector Amjad Aman Leghai formed a team headed by Superintendent ASO Anjum Sheraz and comprising Inspectors Muhammad Habib Meo, Tariq Usmani, Hafiz Mubashir, Muhammad Naeem, Waqas Hameed Leghari and Syed Zeeshan Haider to raid a warehouse in Ayub Colony at Rehmania Road.

Large quantity of smuggled goods including dry fruits and spices were recovered. Further investigations are underway.
