KARACHI: The Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA) has detained a Toyota Vigo vehicle loaded with 800 pieces of steel sheets. The said Toyota Vigo, registered in the name of M/s Cosmos Trading Development, attempted to illegally remove the steel sheets from Export Processing Zone. One Abdullah is the proprietor of M/s Cosmos Trading Development.

According to details, the Customs check post and EPZ staff stopped a Toyota Vigo. During the course of checking, the vehicle was found to be filled with steel sheets measuring length 3 feet and width 2 feet. The vehicle was trying to exit from zone illegally.

Meanwhile, M/s Royal Impex submitted a statement to Deputy Collector KEPZ disowning the vehicle and the goods.

It may be mentioned here that M/s Royal Impex and M/s Cosmos Trading Development are nominated in several FIRs lodged by Superintendent Dost Muhammad pertaining to fraud and money laundering.

MCC Exports has initiated into this matter to ascertain the quantum of goods illegally removed from Export Processing Zone.

It may be mentioned here that after lodging of FIRs, Abdullah was arrested by Superintendent ASO Irshad Shah, however a BS-19 officer at Customs Intelligence & Investigation let Abdullah go. After that, he got his bail.
