KARACHI: The Custom authorities were restrained from any coercive action against a petitioner who challenged recovery notice issued by Custom Collectorate.

The bench earlier heard Sardar Faisal Zafar advocate who maintained that the Custom authorities of collectorate have no jurisdiction in case of consignments which are out of charge. Only Post Clearance Audit (PCA), has jurisdiction in such cases, the counsel submitted referring to SRO 500 of 2009.

The counsel also submitted that collectorate is not allowing release of fresh consignments. The bench after hearing the sides, restrained the customs from any coercive action against the petitioner pursuant to demand notice.
