PESHAWAR: Customs Intelligence & Investigation Peshawar has seized smuggled goods including fresh fruits, dry fruits and non-custom-paid vehicles worth Rs91.25 million. An FIR has also been lodged against an Afghan national.
Information was received from Director Rashid Habib Khan to Additional Director Syed Faisal Bukhari that attempts would be made to smuggle fruits and other goods from Afghanistan. Subsequently, Deputy Director Najeeb Arjumand formed a team headed by Superintendent Malik Mobeen to thwart the same.
The Customs staff seized 14 tons of pomegranate, large quantity of dry fruits, one smuggled Honda Crossroad vehicle, one smuggled Mazda vehicle, floor mats and motor pumps worth Rs91.25 million.
Further investigations are underway.
