KARACHI: Pre-admission notices were issued to Directorate of Customs Intelligence & Investigations (DIT) and other respondent custom officials for Nov 06 in a petition filed by Messrs Jet Lights.
The petitioner company represented by Franklin Law Associates maintains that it imported lights of different types beside chandeliers but DIT has placed a hold on the consignments of the petitioner. The petitioner’s counsel argued that DIT cannot interfere in assessment of goods. He also expressed apprehension that the importer will be booked in some FIR or else.
The bench after initial hearing while ordering issuance of pre-admission notices to the respondents ordered that respondents may issue a show cause to the petitioner for any violation and will afford proper opportunity of hearing before passing any adverse order.
