KARACHI: Patron-in-chief and former Chairman Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD), Mohsin Sheikhani inaugurated the newly-constructed Jinnah Hall at ABAD House.

The new hall was built under ongoing extension of ABAD House and it is having all modern state-of-the-art facilities. Chief of Saylani Welfare Trust Maulana Bashir Farooqui, specially attended the event.

Senior Vice Chairman ABAD Anwar Dawood, Vice Chairman Abdul Kareem Adhia, Chairman Southern Region Ibrahim S. Habib, former Chairmen Arif Yousuf Jeewa, Hanif Gohar, Junaid Taloo, and other senior members of the Association were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Mohsin Sheikhani said Pakistan is currently facing economic challenges as several development activities have come to a halt. He called upon all builders and developers to maintain unity to surmount prevailing challenges.

He congratulated Anwar Dawood and Khawaja Muhammad Ayoob, who are part of the team supervising construction of the ABAD House extension, for completing the hall in record time of nine months.
He underlined that formation of ABAD in 1972 was aimed at uniting builders and developers on one platform and creating ease in doing business.

“ABAD achieved numerous milestones after its inception and construction of Jinnah Hall is part of the same process,” added Mohsin Sheikhani.

In his address, Anwar Dawood said extension of ABAD House was planned keeping in view growing number of members of the Association. He said ABAD was grateful to former DG SBCA, Iftikhar Qaimkhani, who granted approval for ABAD House’s extension through one-window operation in a day.

He, however, added that it was the only project that was approved through one-window, while approvals of several residential projects were still in the waiting.

He said builders initiate their projects by fulfilling all legal requirements, but due to illegal constructions by some elements the entire community is called ‘mafia’.
Vice Chairman Abdul Kareem Adhia gave details of the ABAD House Extension program and appreciated all who contributed for the early completion of Jinnah Hall.

Khawaja Muhammad Ayoob said completion of construction of new floors at ABAD House in a short time was a big challenge, but it was accomplished due to concerted efforts of all office-bearers. Chairman SR Ibrahim Habib thanked all dignitaries and members of ABAD for their presence on this occasion.

Patron-in-chief Saylani Welfare Trust, Maulana Bashir Farooqui, said ABAD was providing livelihood to several people and appealed the members to initiate development projects without thinking to earning profit for the sake of providing jobs to people.
