KARACHI: A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui and Justice Mahmood A Khan ordered Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) to take action against school operating in a residential area.
The bench was hearing two identical petitions filed by Sheikh Muhammad Fayaz and others and Raees Ahmed and others who moved the court against inaction by the SBCA, KDA and other utility providers.
The bench after initial hearing ordered the Deputy Director, SBCA of the town concerned to inspect the site and to stop construction in violation of law, rules and to submit a report before the court. The further proceeding s were adjourned for a week.
The same bench also adjourned hearing of a petition filed by a Hajj Operator who was denied quota. Barrister Abid Zuberi appearing for the petitioner submitted that last date for allotment of the quota would be 27th July. He said that as per reply of the respondents, quota is lying with the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The bench ordered the concerned official present before the court to decide the issue and submit a compliance report before the court.
