KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has barred FBR officials from indulging in private consultancy and tax practices with immediate effect.
FBR noted with concern that certain officials and field formations indulge in private practice (tax/legal consultancy). This practice is against the rules as it compromises their official status and brings disrepute to the department.
Furthermore, the same is proscribed under the Government Servants (Conduct) Rules, 1964. In view of the above, the competent authority has advised officials of FBR and its field formations against indulging into such private tax/legal consultancy of any sort in future.
Strict action will be taken against any official who is found involved in such practice, which will also entail initiation of disciplinary proceedings.
