KARACHI: Large scale and across the board transfers and postings in Pakistan Customs are expected in few days, as the promotions have already been notified.

An official said that as the promotions had been notified; a subsequent adjustment is required, which will be notified in a few days. Officers ranging from BS-21 to BS-16 have almost been finalized with the consultation of Member Customs (Operations).

An official said former Chief Collector Appraisement South Abdul Rasheed Shaikh had reshuffled appraisers and principal appraisers quite abruptly after a strike was observed by the Customs appraising staff against Abdul Rasheed Shaikh. The officials involved in the strike were abnormally transferred and sent to Gilgit-Baltistan, Quetta, Gwadar and Internal Audit etc.

These were experienced officials and understood the affairs of appraisement and examination, official said adding these officials would be brought back to their previous postings.

Similarly, officers ranging BS-21 to BS-17 are also being reshuffled.
