KARACHI: A special customs appellate tribunal comprising  Muhammad Nadeem Qureshi, Member Judicial and Zulfiqar Ali Khan, Member Technical on Friday reserved judgment in an appeal filed by Farooq Traders who imported porcelain ware from China.

The custom authorities detained the consignment accusing the imported of mis-declaration of origin. According to respondent custom officials, the origin of goods in dispute is UnitedKingdom.

A lawyer from Franklin Law Associates appearing for the appellant submitted that the importer / appellant has produced certificate of origin, duly verified by competent authority. Hence its is not a case of mis-declaration and at the most the charge of counterfeiting could be leveled.

The bench after hearing an official of the Pakistan Customs reserved the judgment.
