KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Mrs Ashraf Jahan deferred proceedings in a petition challenging detention of a Toyota Surf vehicle.

Usman Shah, owner of the model 1999 owner moved the court through Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate, seeking return/release of vehicle.

The counsel for Pakistan Customs opposed the plea on ground that auction papers shown in respect of said vehicle are fake. The counsel for appellant/petitioner submitted that auction documents issuedby GHQ Rawalpindi are genuine. She also submitted that date of verification and date of filing of petition are also the same and hence the said vehicle is legally imported.

The bench after hearing the sides fixed Feb 15 for a final hearing.

The same bench hearing an identical petition filed by Khan Tariq whose Toyota Surf vehicle, model 1999 was in detention fixed Jan 24 for a decisive hearing. Khalid Rajpar advocate would appear for the petitioners.
