KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan on Thursday issued notices to the Pakistan Customs in three identical petitions filed by Bhutta International, Huzaifa Enterprises and Deutsche Electro Trade.
Citing the Collectors of MCC East, West and Port Qasim as respondents, Adnan Motan advocate counsel for petitioners submitted that his case was identical to the one decided a day before by the same bench. He maintained that light imported were not made in Pakistan and besides regulator has also stated that petitioners can be given the benefit of concession as government as a policy is encouraging items and sources which help in conserving energy.
The bench inquired again that whether his case is covered by the order passed on Wednesday. The answer was in affirmative after which the bench ordered issuance of notices to the respondents for August 29.
