KARACHI: Weak prosecution and lacunas in investigations caused another defeat to Pakistan Customs as they surrendered a mini truck allegedly used for smuggling “charas”.
According to details, Pakistan Customs seized a Shehzore vehicle and during search recovered 20 kilograms of charas from the said vehicle. The case was then transferred to the Anti Narcotics Force for prosecuting the accused who are available in the vehicle at the time of seizure and arrest but later they were acquitted by the court for faulty prosecution.
Waheed, owner of the pickup truck moved the instant petition through Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate seeking release of the vehicle and on a previous hearing court ordered customs to bring the vehicle and hand over the same to the Nazir of the SHC.
Today the Custom officials told the bench that court’s order has been complied and the vehicle is now with the Nazir of the court.
