KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Yousif Ali Sayeed on Thursday asked Pakistan Customs Directorate of Intelligence and Investigations to produce letter they have sent for verification of documents in respect of a Prado jeep.
The bench was hearing a constitution petition filed by one Shahzad Zafar, through counsel Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate seeking release of vehicle model 2004, bearing registration number BF 8920.
The DIT officials seized the vehicle from PECHS area for allegedly being smuggled one. The petitioner maintains that he has purchased the vehicle from an open auction and later got the same registered by submitting legal documents.
Today bench asked about letter written by the Custom Officials for verification of documents in respect of detained vehicle. Later on a request by the respondent officials, the bench deferred further proceeding till March 24.
