KARACHI: An appellate bench of Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday suspended contempt of court notices ordered by an appellate bench of High Court of Sindh against Director General, Customs Valuation and other respondents. The orders were issued a fortnight back in an application filed by petitioner/importer Horizon Enterprises and others.
The bench however dismissed another plea of Pakistan Customs in the said case seeking stay of hearing by the SHC bench.
Meanwhile Justice Umar Sial of SHC while hearing a suit filed by the Customs against Horizon Enterprises and others seeking stay of hearing of petition by an appellate bench of High court of Sindh put off hearing indefinitely.
The single judge however granted an application filed by defendant Horizon Enterprises and others and ordered that goods in dispute be taken to the Common Pool Fund (CPF) ware house. This would save importer from heavy demurrage etc.[the_ad id=”31605″]
