KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Muneeb Akhtar and Justice Muhammad Humayun Khan on Thursday issued notices to the Director General, Valuation and other custom officials of West and East in two identical petitions.

The petitioners MS International and Kiran Products limited who imported tooth brushes and Menthol Crystals moved the court against enhancement of value by the Director General, Valuation being arbitrary and beyond jurisdiction.

Talal Tariq of Franklin Law Associates appeared for the petitioners and submitted the initial arguments pointing out the violation of section 25-A of the Customs Act 1969 by the respondent officials of Pakistan Customs.
