KARACHI: The Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Collector of Customs and Appellate Tribunal have been put on notice for September 29, 2015 by High Court of Sindh to justify impounding of vehicle.

The bench was hearing a constitution petition filed by one Naseebullah who maintained that he owns a Gas Bowzer Trailer, which was duly imported and registered with Motorvehicle Registration Authority, Lasbella District.

He maintained that ten months back, his vehicle was intercepted and impounded at Jacobabad on allegation that its chassis number is tempered and it is a non custom paid vehicle.

The petitioner maintained that on his appeal, forensic test was conducted and vehicle chassis was found to be genuine yet custom officials are not releasing his vehicle. He maintains that due to illegal act of customs, he is sustaining a loss of Rs100,000 per month.

The petitioner prayed to the court to direct the custom authorities for releasing his vehicle as a NOC has been issued by the department.

The bench after hearing the counsel for petitioner fixed Sept 29 as next date of hearing.
