KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate of Exports has booked three exporters of gold and jewelry and customs agents for depriving the national exchequer of valuable foreign exchange worth $52.428 million through submission of fake and forged Form-E for export consignments of gold and jewelry.

FIR has been lodged against Mohammad Aqeel Khan of M/s Makkah Enterprises; Syed Tahir Hussain Jafri of M/s Saani Impex and Mohammad Kamran Siddiqui of M/s Reaz Corporation.

It is interesting to note that the Customs agent forwarding consignments of above mentioned exporters is M/s Kashan Enterprises.

According to the details of the case, information was received that M/s Makkah Enterprise had exported 49 consignments of gold & jewelry worth $25.61 million; M/s Reaz Corporation exported 10 consignments worth $5.942 million and M/s Saani Impex exported 41 consignments worth 20.875 million.

They all sought clearance thereof against fake and forged Form-E.

The concerned Banks were approached to ascertain authenticity of Form-E against the above mentioned consignments.

The concerned banks informed the authorities that the Form-E were not genuine, which proved that M/s. Makkah Enterprises, M/s Reaz Corporation and M/s Saani Impex submitted false/forged documents (Form-E) in connection with matter related to Customs, inter alia, to avoid realization of foreign remittances in Pakistan.
