KARACHI: The ‘Beauty of Edulgee Dinshaw Road’ a brainchild of Collector Preventive Tariq Huda is being inaugurated by Governor Sindh on November 11, 2014 at 06:00 pm. The Edulgee Dinshaw Road i.e. the Customs House road is being revamped and renamed.

In view of the prevailing reputation of the road and area, and high security risk because of the presence of compromise-able as well as criminal elements, Collector Preventive formulated a proposal to revamp and redecorate the road, so as to discourage presence of anti-social elements.

This proposal has now turned into a project and is being inaugurated on Tuesday. The redesigning and beautification of the Edulgee Dinshaw Road into Beauty of Edulgee Dinshaw Road, an effort to portray soft image of the area, will be completed in the shortest possible time.

The road would be made of bricks and over a dozen close circuit cameras would be installed to monitor the movement. Tree plantation alongside the road and fixing of modern streetlights and benches are also part of the project.

It may be mentioned here that the road would be closed in the evening for public and will be opened early in the morning. Sponsors including KICT, PICT, Gerrys and others are funding this multi-million project.

Several diplomats, dignitaries, DG Rangers, DG of Maritime Security Agency and senior Customs officers would be present on the occasion. Collector Preventive Tariq Hhuda and Commissioner Karachi Shoib Siddiqui will host the event.
