KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue has notified that the authorized branches of SBP, National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), commercial banks and NIFT would remain open on June 28, 29, 30, 2014 for the collection of duty and taxes.
SBP will remain open on June 30 till 2200 hours; NBP would remain open on June 28 & 29 till 2000 hours and till 0000 midnight on June 30, 2014; commercial banks would remain open on June 28 (normal working hours) and till 2200 hours on June 30, 2014.
NIFT will remain available to collect and sort the clearing instruments deposited on June 28 & 29 from NBP. Two special clearings on June 30 at 1500 hours and 2200 hours respectively have also been arranged besides normal clearings.
It is further informed that all LTUs / RTOs will remain open on 28th and 29th June, 2014 till 8:00 pm and on 30th June, 2014 until 12:00 midnight. Chief Commissioners are requested to establish liaison with State Bank of Pakistan and authorized branches of National Bank of Pakistan to ensure transfer of tax collection by these branches before or on 30.06.2014 on the same date to account for this collection for the month of June, 2014.
All Chief Commissioners should personally ensure that all transactions relating to 30th June 2014 and before are settled before the close of current financial year. Any lapse on this account will be viewed seriously.
