KARACHI: The Customs Preventive has taken fool proof security measures in the surroundings of Customs House Karachi following a report by a sensitive agency that Customs House may be a target of a probable terrorist attack.
Moreover, a heavy contingent of police has also been deployed to safeguard the premises, while containers have been placed around the building.
The entry points of old Customs House and other gates are also being guarded by armed employees of Customs while armed personnel have also been deployed at fortified positions and check posts.
Customs has also asked the Customs Agents Association to get the smart cards issued to the agents re-endorsed so that misuse of these cards could be avoided.
