KARACHI: The Directorate General of Customs Valuation has determined the customs values of viscose filament yarn fine count (below 75 denier) up to $8 per kilogram with respect to its origins, as per notification.
The following customs values are assessed under Section 25-A of the Customs Act, 1969 included:
Viscose filament yarn 30-denier of origin China, India & Germany under PCT heading 5403.3100 & 5403.3200 will be assessed up to (C&F) $7.50 to $8.00 per kgs.
Viscose filament yarn 40-denier of origin China, India & Germany under PCT heading 5403.3100 & 5403.200 will be assessed up to (C&f) $6.80 to $7.83 per kgs.
Viscose filament yarn 50-denier of origin China, India & Germany under PCT heading 5403.3100 & 5403.3200 will be assessed up to (C&F) $6.00 to $7.65 per kgs.
Viscose filament yarn 60-denier of origin China, India & Germany under PCT heading 5403.3100 &5403.3200 will be assessed up to (C&F) $5.50 to $5.79 per kgs.
After consultation with all stakeholders the valuation of good has been determined and informed to Pakistan Yarn Merchant Association (Karachi & Gujranwala) regarding valuation.
Since, the said ruling does not cover viscose filament yarn of fine counts (below 75 denier) therefore, an exercise to determine the customs value is initiated, notification said.
If transactional values are higher that the customs value determine in this ruling, the assessing officer shall apply those values in terms of Sub-Section (1) of Section 25 of the Customs Act, 1969.
In case of consignments imported by air, the assessing officer shall take into account the differential between air freight and sea freight while applying the customs values.
The ruling is valid until and unless it is revised by the competent authority and review petition may be filed against the ruling under Section 25-D within 30 days from the date of issue, before the Directorate General of Customs Valuation.
