KARACHI: The anti-smuggling marine squad of MCC-Gawadar Thursday foiled a bid to smuggle foreign liquor into the country.
According to details, acting on a tip of regarding smuggling of liquor, the anti-smuggling marine squad of MCC-Gawadar seized a Yamaha 85-HP speed boat between Pishukan and Gawadar and recovered 202 bottles of Macgregor foreign origin whisky.
The market value of the speedboat is Rs1.5 million while the liquor is worth about Rs0.606 million.
A day earlier, the anti-smuggling staff of MCC-Gawadar seized a 200-HP speed launch worth Rs2.0 million loaded with 5600 liters of Iranian Diesel worth Rs0.56 million at Taak area near Jiwani.
According to Collector Gawadar, Dr. Arsalan, the case had been registered and investigations are underway.
