The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has imposed the minor penalty to the officer on the charge of inefficiency and misconduct, a notification issued on Thursday.
Mr. Ali Akbar Tunio, Inland Revenue Audit Officer/BS-16, RTO-III, Karachi, is being penalized under the government servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973 and on a show cause notice he had been given an opportunity to attend the personal hearing before the court on 23/10/2013 but during the course of proceedings the officer was not satisfactory and failed to prove his allegations false.
Therefore, the Authorized Officer Mr. Sajjad Siddiqui, the Additional Commissioner, RTO-III, Karachi was appointed as inquiry officer by the chief (management) / authorized officer has imposed a minor penalty of “stoppage of one annual increment for a period of one year” on the officer under the Rule 4(1)(a)(ii) of the E&D Rules, 1973, for his negligence in completion of de-registration process who had submitted the report of IRA Officer that he has been found guilty of unusual delay in completion of de-registration process for a period of 42 days.
Perpetrator shall have right of appeal to the Appellate Authority under Civil Servants (Appeals) Rules, 1977 within a period of 30 days from the date of imposing penalty.
