KARACHI: Samaira Nazir Khan Director General (DG) Directorate General of Customs Valuation Karachi has rejected the revision petition of Pre-Engineered Building Industries Private Limited under Section 25D of Customs Act. 1969 against Valuation Ruling No. 777/2015 December 4, 2015 regarding Fibre Cement Board import from China and India.

The petitioner prayed the Customs Valuation department has pre-determined the value of the impugned goods vide said ruling and without the considering the transaction value of the impugned goods of the applicant.

In the order it was said that the petitioner did not appear for hearing inspite of giving him opportunity, therefore the case was decided after examining case record and conducting a market survey. No merit was found in the submissions of the petitioner lacking supportive evidences.

The petitioner in its review petition submitted furnished copies of more than two years old invoices and Goods Declaration that could not be taken into consideration as evidential values.

In reply objections regarding the matter the Customs Valuation department said valuation have been determined for uniform assessment of the imported items and these values have no concern with local industry.

The Director General in the view of mentioned facts and legal infirmities observes the same does not merit consideration and is hereby rejected.
