KARACHI: Director Customs Valuation Manzoor Hussain Memon has revised the customs values of self adhesive tape vide Valuation Ruling No.809/2016.
Customs values of Self Adhesive Tape (BOPP/OPP) in Jumbo/Log Roll and Self Adhesive Tape (BOPP/OPP) in retail packing were determined Valuation Ruling No.791/2016. A representation was received from M/S Advance Packing Product (Private) Limited wherein they have pointed out that there are two main types of self adhesive tapes i.e. water based acrylic type and hotmelt rubber based type.
They contended that the existing ruling covers only water based acrylic type self adhesive tapes but has not accounted for hotmelt rubber based self adhesive tapes. They also submitted evidences of actual imports indicating that rubber based adhesive tapes are comparatively much expensie. They also submitted technical specifications showing differences in the two types of tapes.
Therefore, the Directorate General initiated an exercise for determination of customs values of Water Based Self Adhesive Tape (BOPP/OPP) in Jumbo, Log Roll and Retail Packing and Hot Melt Rubber Based Self Adhesive Tapes in Jumbo Log Roll and Retail Packing.
The customs values of Water based acrylic type self adhesive (Transparent BOPP/OPP) tape-width exceeding 20cm –(Jumbo Rolls) under PCT chapter 39.19 of China/Malaysia will be $1.60/KG, of Korea/UAE/Taiwan will be $1.68/KG, of Europe & USA will be $2.08/KG and goods of all other origins will be assessed to duty and taxes at $$1.70/KG.
The customs values of Water based acrylic type self adhesive (Transparent BOPP/OPP) tape-width exceeding 20cm –(Log Rolls) under PCT chapter 39.19 of China/Malaysia will be $1.65/KG, of Korea/UAE/Taiwan will be $1.73/KG, of Europe & USA will be $2.14/KG and goods of all other origins will be assessed to duty and taxes at $$1.75/KG.
The customs values of Water based acrylic type self adhesive (Transparent BOPP/OPP) tape-width not exceeding 20cm (in retail packing with paperboard spool) under PCT chapter 39.19 of China/Malaysia will be $1.68/KG, of Korea/UAE/Taiwan will be $1.76/KG, of Europe & USA will be $2.18/KG and goods of all other origins will be assessed to duty and taxes at $1.79/KG.
The customs values of Water based acrylic type self adhesive (Transparent BOPP/OPP) tape-width not exceeding 20cm –(in retail packing with plastic spool) under PCT chapter 39.19 of China/Malaysia will be $1.72/KG, of Korea/UAE/Taiwan will be $1.80/KG, of Europe & USA will be $2.24/KG and goods of all other origins will be assessed to duty and taxes at $1.85/KG.
The customs values of Water based acrylic type self adhesive (Transparent BOPP/OPP) scotch brand width not exceeding 20cm –(in retail packing) under PCT chapter 39.19 of China/Malaysia will be $5.4/KG, of Korea/UAE/Taiwan will be $5.6/KG, of Europe & USA will be $7.0/KG and goods of all other origins will be assessed to duty and taxes at $5.8/KG.
The customs values of Hot melt rubber based self adhesive (Transparent BOPP/OPP) tape-width exceeding 20cm –(Jumbo Rolls) under PCT chapter 39.19 imported from M/s Alpha Beta global Tapes and Adhesives Co Ltds Taiwan will be $2.70/KG; self adhesive (Transparent BOPP/OPP) tape-width exceeding 20cm will be $2.78; values of self adhesive (Transparent BOPP/OPP) tape-width not exceeding 20cm (in retail packing with paperboard spool) will be $2.84/KG; values of self adhesive (Transparent BOPP/OPP) tape-width not exceeding 20cm –(in retail packing with plastic spool) will be $2.90/KG.
