KARACHI: Hearing a petition filed by AA Lubricants Private Limited, a constitutional bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) ordered release of goods on payment of un-dispute amount of duties and taxes with the Collectorate/ Department and disputed amount of duties, taxes, along with adjudged fine and penalty before Nazir of SHC.
The petition was filed through noted law firm Franklin Law Associates. As the petition was taken up by bench comprising Justice Agha Faisal and Justice Abdul Mobeen Lakho, the contesting sides jointly suggested the said terms as counsel for petitioner expressed willingness of petitioner to pay the duty, taxes etc.
The bench accepting the joint request ordered that once amounts are deposited and secured, the goods shall be released while fate of the amount will be subject to the outcome of the appeal pending before the custom appellate tribunal. The petition was accordingly disposed off.
