Karachi: In a significant move aligning with the Government of Pakistan’s ongoing policy against smuggled goods, a decisive operation was launched by the Collectorate of Customs (CoC) Enforcement, Karachi, targeting the illicit storage of smuggled tyres. The operation was executed on the basis of credible information received concerning the storage of these tyres at Tyre Market, Old Sabzi Mandi, University Road.

The joint operation, meticulously coordinated by CoC Enforcement Karachi, involved the collaboration of multiple agencies, including the Sindh Rangers, Sindh Police, and an intelligence agency. The operation was greenlit after the crucial information was passed from Collector Moin Wani to Additional Collector Basit Hussain, with Deputy Collector Raza Naqvi spearheading the raid.

The coordinated raid commenced during the early hours of the intervening night between January 5th and 6th, 2025, beginning at approximately 12:15 AM and concluding around 5:15 AM.
