KARACHI: New notices were ordered by a custom bench of High Court of Sindh while hearing three identical Special Custom Reference Application (SCRA’s) No. 757, 758 and 759 of 2022 filed by Directorate of Intelligence & Investigations, Pakistan Customs.

As the SCRA’s came up for hearing Khalid Mehmood Rajpar Advocate representing the applicant department pointed out that no one is present to represent the respondents while the respondents have approached the Custom Appellate Tribunal for implementation of its order.

The bench on request by counsel for DIT also suspended the operation of order passed by the Custom Appellate Tribunal  dated 17.08.2022. The order thus blocked the contempt of court proceedings now a days initiated by the Customs Appellate Tribunal.

The SCRA’s pertain to dispute of mis-declaration in respect of imported consignments of Steel Piles which were equated with Machinery, spares.

The private importers are Ghulam Rasool & Co, Shah Logistics and others while official respondents include Collector of Adjudication-II and Customs Appellate Tribunal, Bench II at Karachi
