Islamabad: In a significant move aimed at enhancing efficiency and streamlining operations, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced a series of re-designations, mergers, and changes in reporting lines as part of its ongoing Transformation Plan. These changes are effective immediately.

Key changes include:

  • The post of Member (Public Relations) has been re-designated as Member (Taxpayers Services).
  • The post of Member (Accounting) has been re-designated as Member (Organizational Audit).
  • The Director General (Revenue Analysis) will now report to the Member (IR-Policy).
  • The Director General, Internal Audit (IR) will report to the Member (Organizational Audit).
  • The posts of Member (Information Technology) and Member (Digital Initiatives) have been merged and re-designated as Director General (Information Technology and Digital Transformation). The DG (IT & DT) will report to the Member (IR-Operations).

The powers and functions previously held by the Member (Information Technology) and Member (Digital Initiatives) will now be exercised by the Member (IR-Operations).

These changes are part of FBR’s broader efforts to modernize its structure and improve service delivery to taxpayers.
