In a decisive move against smuggling, the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Karachi, led by Collector Basit Abbasi, conducted a successful operation on August 31, 2024. Acting on credible intelligence through Additional Collector Dawood Pirzado, Deputy Collector Raza Naqvi, and Preventive Officers Saqlain Chadhar and Syed Asif Ali, raided a compound behind Ajmer 2 Petroleum Services (Attock) on the Northern Bypass.

During the operation, approximately 29,500 liters of smuggled Iranian diesel were discovered in illegal storage and underground tanks. The seized diesel, valued at around Rs. 8 million, was transferred to the Collectorate’s warehouse using two rented oil tanker vehicles for further examination and legal proceedings.

This operation underscores the Government of Pakistan’s commitment to combating smuggling and enforcing trade regulations.
