KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has notified large-scale transfers and postings of Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) ranging BS-20 and BS-19. These orders are somewhat surprising as well as anticipated. While there have been some very good transfers, at the same time some transfers are questionable wherein civil/social life and carriers of certain officers would be impacted.
A day earlier several officers were sent to Admin Pool, even competent and honest officers were also sent to Admin Pool such as Muhammad Adnan Akram, Iram Maqbool Amir, Malik Kamran Azam, Ambreen Tarar. In past also certain good and clean officers were sent to Admin Pool despite the fact that they had no role in any kind of corruption or inefficiency.
Mr. Fayyaz Anwar (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-20) is moved from the office of Member (Legal & Accounting-Customs), (OPS) Federal Board of Revenue (Hq), Islamabad and posted as Director General (OPS), Directorate General of Law & Prosecution, Islamabad (Stationed at Lahore).
Mr. Saeed Akram (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-20) from Chief Collector of Customs (OPS), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Custom House, Peshawar to Member (OPS) (Legal & Accounting-Customs), Federal Board of Revenue (HQ), Islamabad. His tenure as Chief Collector had completed.
Mr. Irfan Javed (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-20) from Collector, Collectorate of Customs, Gwadar to Collector, Collectorate of Customs (Exports), Custom House, Karachi. He was not quite comfortable in Gwadar.
Mr. Rashid Habib Khan (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-20) from Collector, Collectorate of Customs Appraisement, Port Muhammad Bin Qasim, Karachi to Collector, Collectorate of Customs (Adjudication-I), Karachi.
Dr. Tahir Qureshi (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-20) Collector, Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Quetta with look after charge of the post of Director, Directorate of DNFBPs, Quetta and Director, Directorate of NNDA, Quetta is assigned the look after charge of the post of Collector, Collectorate of Customs (Enforcement), Khuzdar in addition to his own duties till posting of a regular incumbent. Qureshi is a very competent and honest officer, and he is looking after the anti-smuggling campaign in the entire province.

Mr. Hassan Saqib Sheikh (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-20) is transferred from Director, Directorate General of Intelligence & Investigation, FBR, Islamabad and posted as Chief (Tariff & Trade), Federal Board of Revenue (HQ), Islamabad. Sources said that Sheikh had developed a difference of opinion over Quetta with his Director General. Sources said Saeed Ahmed Wattoo had appointed his favorite officials in Quetta. An official said that when officers demand postings of his/her field formation, this raises questions.
