KARACHI: Sharjeel Jamal, Convenor FPCCI Committee on Trade, sharply criticised the formation of new Collectorates of Customs.
The policy should focus on inflows so that pressure on country ‘s resources.
But, it seems that new posts are being created to accommodate officers, which would increase burden on the resources.
Jobs which were earlier assigned to Additional Collector, are now done by Collectors. He said there should be a quota for Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) officers.
He said country didn’t need CSP officers , but professionals such as engineers, doctors, scientists etc to steer the country into a progressive era.
