KARACHI: A custom bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) ordered Cosco Shipping Lines and DP World to release of a consignment of Noor Brothers International, Lahore the moment certificate issued by Nazir of High Court regarding deposition of disputed amount of demurrage is presented to the said respondents.
The bench was hearing a petition filed by the importer company through renowned law firm Franklin Law Associates. A counsel from the firm appearing for the importer company submitted that respondent shipping line and port operator are not releasing its consignment over dispute of demurrage charges.
The bench noted that no one is present on behalf of Cosco and DP World while Collector of Customs Appraisement, Port Muhammad Bin Qasim was not served.
The bench while order of release deferred further proceedings till Nov 29.
